Northforge is not a prime. We do not seek to be the prime on Defence and Government programmes.
What we are is a specialist sovereign-cleared partner that brings classified-environment depth and Microsoft platform expertise to programmes already running. Primes engage us as a subcontractor where the work demands skills, clearances or sovereign positioning their broader delivery model can’t supply at speed.
This positioning is deliberate. It means our incentives align with the prime’s delivery outcomes. We don’t bid against partners. We don’t poach scope. We don’t build a parallel customer relationship behind the prime’s back.
Northforge architects and engineers embedded within the prime’s delivery team. We bring the cleared technical practitioners; the prime owns governance and customer relationship.
A defined work package within the broader programme: the IRAP accreditation track, the M365 deployment, the Azure landing zone build. Northforge owns delivery of the package to agreed quality and timeline.
Short-form engagements: architecture reviews, accreditation preparation, exception decisions, design-time consultation. Drawn upon by the prime where specialist input adds disproportionate value.
For programmes where part of the work requires Australian-owned delivery (FOCI mitigation, classified handling), Northforge takes that carve-out within the broader consortium structure.
For Defence and Government programmes where sovereign ownership matters — FOCI mitigation, classified handling, dual-citizenship constraints, ITAR considerations — Northforge provides a clean Australian-owned subcontract path. No foreign parent. No offshore delivery. No supply chain concern.
Every Northforge practitioner deployed on a programme holds an AGSVA-issued clearance at the required level. Onboarding does not depend on clearance processing. The prime’s programme can begin Northforge’s contribution on day one rather than month four.
The team that scopes the engagement has personally delivered SECRET-level on-premises Defence environments. We bring instinct, not just methodology — the kind of contextual judgement that primes can’t recruit at scale and consultancies can’t train into junior staff.
The Forge Method™ produces IRAP-ready artefacts as a byproduct of build — not as a separate workstream. For primes running fixed-price Defence contracts, this is the difference between hitting the milestone and explaining why the milestone slipped.
